ROYAL KASHOEN Powder Brush Gradation x Gold-Inlay Cherry

This superb brush is a combination of two traditional Japanese techniques. One is of the finest makeup brush handmade one by one by skilled craftsmen. The other is of the practical handicraft where beautiful Maki-e, gold-inlay or Urushi lacquer is applied, which is created in collaboration with seven traditional craftsmen in Echizen, Fukui.

Japan has been providing world-class products as a technological powerhouse, utilizing the processing techniques of skilled craftsmen that have been nurtured over generations since ancient times.

Lacquer products have also been highly evaluated for a few hundred years since Azuchi-momoyama period, and many of them have been exported to the West. French Queen Marie Antoinette's Japanese lacquer collection has been discovered in recent years. The "Piano Black" of the grand piano, which is a representative of the Western instrument, was inspired by the jet-black color of Japanese Urushi lacquer.

The brushes in ROYAL KASHOEN series are made of the highest quality natural hair of SS class that has been carefully selected by KASHOEN's skilled craftsmen from originally rare portion of natural hair. The handles and metal parts that bundle the hair are Echizen Urushi lacquered and tastefully decorated with a rose of Maki-e.

Established in 1883 in Kumano, Hiroshima, KASHOEN is the oldest makeup brush brand in Japan. Like diamonds, animal hair used for makeup brushed is classified in 6 grades from the A-D , which is used for a standard product, to the highest grade SS. KASHOEN uses hair of the class A and over only. Makeup brushes in KASHOEN series (class S) and ROYAL KASHOEN series (SS class) have higher grade of quality than the highest grade of the industry.
