Often called 'oriental linen', ramie has been used as a bedding fabric for thousands of years. A plant native to eastern Asia, Ramie has long, strong fibers the structure of which provides absorbency and dissipation of excess moisture. Its crisp, dry touch makes it a prized summer fabric. Creating the mattress-pad fill, IWATA applies its unique needle-punching technology to compress the fibers from a 40cm thickness to 1cm. The outer shell is also 100% ramie, woven to create a naturally crinkled texture that promotes breathability. Washable and line-dryable.
